Role Overview: As a Security Specialist at Hamilton County, you will ensure the safety and security of county facilities by conducting security risk assessments, developing policies and training programs, managing security systems, investigating incidents, collaborating with law enforcement, and proactively addressing emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Risk Manager in managing security across all county buildings, including weekend and holiday coverage.
- Manage security personnel responsible for building entry/exit processes, maintain guard post orders, and provide daily reports.
- Oversee access control systems for county buildings, excluding those under the County Sheriff.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures for county facilities.
- Conduct daily meetings with security staff; review reports and incident documentation.
- Prepare and maintain security-related documentation such as accident reports, duty rosters, disciplinary actions, and security reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Security Management, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or equivalent military, law enforcement, or corporate security experience.
- At least three years of security experience demonstrating supervisory skills and sound judgment in stressful situations.
- Thorough knowledge of security procedures, safety regulations, contract management, and public relations.
- Equivalent training and/or experience may be considered.
- Valid Driver's License issued by the state of residence.

- 40-hour work week, generally between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm.
