Intelligence Careers is seeking a Security Specialist (Advanced Programs) for a GG-14 position within the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System. The role focuses on information assurance management for collateral, SCI, and SAP IT systems.
The incumbent must meet specialized experience standards and be eligible for SCI/SAP access. Formal DoD/OPM qualifications apply, with emphasis on security program expertise and the ability to interpret complex directives.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Security Specialist (Advanced Programs), responsible for information assurance (IA) management subject matter expertise for collateral, SCI, and SAP Information Technology (IT) systems. This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices in a professional or administrative occupation, such as would be gained through extended graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments; or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of a technical field and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established incumbent EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/OC) or their delegated security career field representative. This certification requirement only applies to incumbents hired onto this position on or after 14 March 2016. Incumbent employees assigned on or before 13 March 2016 are not required to obtain the DoD certification(s) listed above.
This is a Mission-Essential (ME) position performing a Mission-Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continue through full resumption of all functions, in accordance with DoDI 3020.42 (Defense Continuity Programs). In the event of a crisis situation, inclement weather, or other identified emergency conditions, the incumbent must continue to perform these essential duties until relieved by proper authority.
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
