Intelligence Careers is seeking a Senior Security Specialist to provide management oversight for information systems and personnel security programs supporting USAF, DoD, and National SAPs. The role advises AFOSI/PJ leadership on capability requirements and ensures SAP information protection procedures are followed.
The position requires meeting OPM standards for General Schedule, plus TS/SCI eligibility and successful background checks.
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Senior Security Specialist. Providing management oversight for information systems and personnel security program policies in support of USAF, DoD, and National level Special Access Programs (SAPs). Advises AFOSI/PJ senior leadership on major USAF capability requirements and ensures SAP Information Protection procedures are followed. This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: In-depth knowledge of a major area of security specialization with demonstrated mastery of security administration programs. Comprehensive knowledge of security policy requirements to function as technical authorities in assignments requiring the application of theories and development to security problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted security methods, technology and procedures: knowledge in resolving major conflicts in policy and program objectives. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
