Description

JobSummary:

Directly supervises SeniorSecurityOfficers andSecurityOfficers while maintaining policies and programs to ensure physical safety of the casino's guests, employees, property and assets; complies with Gaming Control Boardsecurityrequirements and the casino's internal controls.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Yes, will supervise 15-25 direct reports on a shift.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with operational procedures for activities such as guest service standards, fire prevention emergency response, guarding and patrolling the physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with gaming protection activities, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Hires, trains and manages staff in accordance with organizational and approved departmental policies, practices and programs.
  • Reviews, approves and issues personnel performance notices and performance reviews.
  • Supervises, manages and assists security officers in all aspects of the job.
  • Confers with representatives of management to recommend policy changes, determines need for programs and training, and coordinates programs with the casino's goals and objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Works with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of casino activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
  • Directs activities of workers involved in workplace safety programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Gaming Control Board regulations and guidelines.
  • Works with representatives of state, federal, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure cooperation and coordination of casino investigations that are criminal and civil in nature.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Background and knowledge of security operations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, safety, investigation, and legal issues.
  • Two or more years of relevant work or law enforcement experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

  • Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Excellent knowledge in various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust.
  • Must occasionally move and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
