Job summary

Adventureland Park in Altoona, IA seeks a Security Screener to protect guests and assist with crowd management. You will operate metal detectors, conduct bag checks, and report suspicious activity. The role requires a High School diploma or GED, preferred Criminal Justice background, and at least 1 year in security or related field.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Criminal Justice degree preferred.
• 1+ year security experience preferred.
• Fluent English; Spanish or other languages a plus.
• Must be 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Operate metal detectors and conduct bag checks for entry control.
• Maintain courteous and professional demeanor with guests during screening.
• Monitor and report suspicious activity or security breaches to authorities.
• Assist in emergencies by following protocols and guiding guests/staff.
• Prepare detailed incident reports for park management.
• Collaborate with security and park staff for coordinated responses.
• Provide directions and guest assistance to ensure a positive experience.
• Uphold park hospitality standards and resolve guest concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of security checks and incidents.
• Participate in regular training to stay current on protocols.
