Job summary

The Museum of Flight seeks a Security & Safety Manager to lead 24/7 security and safety operations, protecting people, visitors, collections, and campus. You’ll develop and maintain policies, coordinate with emergency services, and guide training for staff and volunteers.

You will manage a responsible security team, collaborate with museum leaders on programs, events, and safety plans, and oversee life safety systems and budgetary needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Security or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum of five years in security management with at least 3 years supervisory/vendor oversight.
• Experience managing access control systems, automated alerts, and fire safety panels is highly preferred.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and policy development experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage 24/7 unarmed security team; set objectives, coach, and evaluate staff.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security and safety policies and procedures.
• Oversee security systems: alerts, cameras, access points, fire panels.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, EMS, and emergency responders.
• Work with HR on safety programs, training, and records.
