Job summary

The Museum of Flight is seeking a Security & Safety Manager to lead 24/7 security and safety operations for staff, visitors, and artifacts on campus. You will implement policies, oversee life safety systems, and partner with emergency responders to maintain a safe environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Safety and Security or related field, 5+ years in security management with supervisory experience, and strong budgeting and vendor oversight capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Security or related field.
• Five+ years in security management with at least 3 years supervisory/vendor oversight experience.
• Experience with access control systems, alarms, and fire safety panels/devices preferred.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and cost management experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead 24/7 unarmed security and safety operations for the museum campus, events, and programs.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security and safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal stakeholders on safety plans.
• Oversee hiring, training, and evaluation of security staff and vendors.
• Manage department budget, contracts, and vendor relationships.
