Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Security Technician/Project Specialist to join our data centre team in Texas, handling installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of enterprise electronic security systems.

You will work with Project Managers and Site Supervisors on hyperscale projects, support handover to customers, and have pathways into Site Supervisor and Project Management roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in electronic security systems.
• Strong knowledge of access control and CCTV systems.
• Experience installing, configuring, testing and troubleshooting security equipment.
• Solid networking, servers, switches and security infrastructure understanding.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Data center or mission-critical experience is desirable.
• Experience with Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, C-CURE 9000, Avigilon or AMAG is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and commission electronic security systems across hyperscale data center projects.
• Complete system start-up, checkout, certification and troubleshooting.
• Configure servers, switches, cameras, access control devices and biometric systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and project documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
• Support testing, closeout documentation and customer handover.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors throughout project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians where required.

The ideal candidate will support major projects for some of the world's largest technology companies alongside experienced Project Managers and Site Supervisors, with clear opportunities to progress into Site Supervisor and Project Management roles.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, test and commission electronic security systems across hyperscale data center projects
• Complete system start-up, checkout, certification and troubleshooting

Skills / Must Have:

• 3+ years of experience within electronic security systems

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams
• Data center or mission-critical experience highly desirable
