Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist Product Manager to own security across five domains—Identity, Behavior, Location, Platform and Environment—driving a shared platform roadmap for online proctoring and related services.

You will lead discovery with clients, proctors and operations, translate requirements into scalable platform capabilities, and partner across Engineering and Security to deliver measurable improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product management, including 3+ years owning security, identity, fraud, risk or trust‑and‑safety products.
• Ownership of a platform or shared‑services product consumed by multiple internal teams or channels.
• Experience with detection or classification products built on AI/ML, with a fluency in precision/recall trade‑offs.
• Track record in regulated, high‑stakes environments where errors have real consequences.

Responsibilities

• Own a persistent, outcome‑based roadmap for each domain across disciplines.
• Design security as a shared platform with defined capabilities and integration patterns.
• Maintain a live capability gap analysis by domain and address weaknesses with evidence.
• Build a standing view of threat landscape to inform roadmaps and discovery.
• Track competitor capabilities and communicate where Pearson leads or lags.
• Run continuous discovery with candidates, proctors, and client owners.
• Convert client requests into cross‑portfolio capabilities with reasoned alternatives.
• Instrument controls and own metrics: detection rate, precision/recall, false positives.
• Collaborate with data science on AI/ML detection and set performance bars.
• Ensure defensible evidence for controls against appeals, scrutiny, and legal questions.
• Close the loop: feed forensics findings back into the roadmap.
• Partner with Engineering Delivery, Architecture and Security Operations from discovery to production.
• Write clear problem statements and product narratives for engineers, clients, and executives.
• Sequence around outcomes and dependencies; own production readiness.
