Job summary

Telos Corporation is seeking a Security Engineer based in Ashburn, VA to design, implement, and continuously improve security platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. You will collaborate with Security Operations, IT, and development teams to deliver secure, reliable enterprise solutions.

The role emphasizes platform engineering, automation, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security architecture support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in security engineering or related technical fields.
• Experience implementing and supporting enterprise security technologies (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability mgmt, firewalls, IAM, data security).
• Experience with Windows and Linux in an enterprise environment.
• Cloud experience, especially AWS.
• Automation using PowerShell, Python, and APIs.
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and communicate risks clearly.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, secure configurations, change management, and incident response.
• Ability to create technical documentation and architecture diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, maintain, integrate, and improve enterprise security technologies (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability mgmt, network security, PAM, data security, threat intel).
• Support full lifecycle of security technologies including evaluation, design, upgrades, and retirement.
• Develop integrations between security platforms, enterprise systems, and cloud services using APIs and scripting.
• Onboard and maintain security-relevant data sources and troubleshoot logging and ingestion issues.
• Develop automation to reduce manual effort and speed responses.
• Support vulnerability management with risk identification and remediation guidance.
• Develop secure configuration standards and reference architectures.
• Participate in security design reviews for enterprise systems, cloud services, and infrastructure changes.
• Provide escalation support to SOC, IT, and application teams.
• Assist with investigations by analyzing endpoint, network, identity, and cloud data.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Coordinate with vendors to plan upgrades and improvements.
