Job summary

Telos Corporation is seeking a Security Engineer in Ashburn, VA to design, implement, and maintain security platforms across the enterprise. You will collaborate with Security Operations, IT, and applications teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.

The role emphasizes automation, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security architecture support in a fast-paced environment. US citizenship may be required for eligibility; DoD 8140 qualifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in security engineering, systems administration, network engineering, cloud engineering, security operations or related field.
• Hands-on with enterprise security tech (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, firewalls, identity security, PAM, data security, threat intelligence).
• Experience with Windows and Linux in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of cloud tech (AWS desirable).
• Experience automating with PowerShell, Python, APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, maintain, and improve security technologies and controls.
• Support full lifecycle of security technologies including evaluations, design, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Develop integrations between security platforms and cloud/enterprise systems using APIs and scripting.
• Onboard and validate security data sources; troubleshoot logging and ingestion issues.
• Develop automation to reduce manual effort and improve response times.
• Support vulnerability management by identifying risks and remediation actions.
• Develop secure configuration standards and reference architectures.
• Participate in security design reviews for enterprise systems and cloud services.
• Provide advanced escalation and troubleshooting to SOC and IT teams.
• Coordinate with vendors for product upgrades and improvements.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
