Job summary

Florida Tech is seeking a Parking Officer responsible for patrolling campus parking lots, enforcing rules, and supporting parking programs for events. The role includes issuing permits, directing traffic, and maintaining parking records and equipment.

The officer will provide safety information to the university community, work in coordination with campus stakeholders, and may cover alternate hours during emergencies. A valid Florida driver’s license and basic security training are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Additional certifications, licensing, or training in law enforcement, security, or related fields is preferred.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Minimum of 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to conduct themselves professionally with faculty, staff, students, dignitaries, and a multicultural community.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol campus parking lots and enforce established rules and regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate parking programs for campus events and safety.
  • Manage parking permits, signage, traffic direction and control; determine staffing needs.
  • Maintain parking records and equipment.
  • Provide safety information and directions to the university community and visitors.

Job description

The Parking Officer will primarily be responsible for parking-related functions that include the parking system usage and access by the campus and general public as well as parking enforcement and regulation. The patrolling of campus parking lots, enforcing established rules and regulations, and performing community service functions related to parking. May be involved in the planning and coordination of parking programs such as parking and safety coordination for campus special events and parking information programs. Parking permits, signange, traffic direction and control. Keeping up with maintenance of parking records and equipment.Responsibilities Include:Patrolling campus parking lots, enforcing established rules and regulations, and performing community service functions related to the parking needs on campusPlanning and coordination of parking programs such as parking and safety coordination for campus special events and parking information programsParking permits, signange, traffic direction and control, and determmining staffing needsMaintenance of parking records and equipmentProvide safety awareness through daily contact with the university community and visitors by providing general safety information, directions, and parking informationMay be required to work during emergency situations, which may require the officer to remain at the university until the emergency situation has terminated.
