Florida Tech is seeking a Parking Officer responsible for parking system usage, access control, and enforcement across campus. The role includes patrolling parking lots, coordinating parking programs for events, and maintaining permits and signage while ensuring safety information is communicated to the university community and visitors.
You may work during emergency situations, with alternate hours as needed, and collaborate with university staff to staff parking operations efficiently.
The Parking Officer will primarily be responsible for parking-related functions that include the parking system usage and access by the campus and general public as well as parking enforcement and regulation. The patrolling of campus parking lots, enforcing established rules and regulations, and performing community service functions related to parking. May be involved in the planning and coordination of parking programs such as parking and safety coordination for campus special events and parking information programs. Parking permits, signange, traffic direction and control. Keeping up with maintenance of parking records and equipment. Responsibilities Include: Patrolling campus parking lots, enforcing established rules and regulations, and performing community service functions related to the parking needs on campus Planning and coordination of parking programs such as parking and safety coordination for campus special events and parking information programs Parking permits, signange, traffic direction and control, and determmining staffing needs Maintenance of parking records and equipment Provide safety awareness through daily contact with the university community and visitors by providing general safety information, directions, and parking information May be required to work during emergency situations, which may require the officer to remain at the university until the emergency situation has terminated. Work designated alternate hours and perform other responsibilities as needed
Requirements Include: High School diploma or GED Additional certifications, licensing, degrees and/or training in law enforcement, security, or related fields is preferred Must have a valid Florida driver's license and maintain good driving record as determined by Florida Tech guidelines Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant work experience required Ability to conduct themsleves professionally, use of excellent acumen with university faculty, staff, students, dignitaries, and a multicultural community

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations. Florida Tech’s 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities. The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information. Official Transcripts Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment.
