King County is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead the Security Management Section within the Facilities Management Division. This role supervises a large security staff, oversees scheduling, training, and incident reporting, and serves as on-call Duty Manager for after-hours operations.

The ideal candidate excels in public safety leadership, integrity, and effective communication with senior management and intergovernmental partners.

Qualifications

• Extensive background in Public Safety and Building Security including managing a large security guard operation.
• Experience supervising a large workforce in a public-sector environment.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
• Customer-focused approach building relationships with intergovernmental agencies.
• Able to adapt in multi-faceted, sometimes ambiguous environments.
• Experience developing staff training and ensuring procedural accountability.

Responsabilités

• Supervise assigned staff: recruit, train, evaluate, coach, and discipline as needed.
• Oversee scheduling, approve absences, manage overtime, and payroll analytics.
• Train security staff on procedures, safety, and emergency response; maintain records.
• Act as on-call 24/7 Duty Manager for building/facilities issues.
• Review processes, implement improvements, and coordinate changes.
• Maintain incident and activity reports; respond to reports of crimes or incidents.
• Coordinate emergency responses with Security Manager and liaise with peers.
