Job summary

King County is seeking experienced Security Officers to join the Facilities Management Division (FMD) security team. This 24-hour operation requires presence at various King County facilities, with shifts including 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour periods, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ballistic vests are required during shifts, and probation applies for CS and TLT statuses. Ideal candidates bring professional security experience, knowledge of defensive tactics, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must have the ability to work or be assigned any shift as needed.
• Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
• Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation and pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard County property and enforce building operation and safety regulations.
• Make security checks of premises and document incidents.
• Provide security escort service to County employees as needed.
• Handle disturbances and remove trespassers or unsafe individuals.
• Coordinate with local Police for incident response.
• Staff security desks, log activity, monitor CCTV and alarms.
• Perform after-hours weapons screening in Courthouses; coordinate emergency repairs.
