Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead and oversee security personnel, ensuring protection of facilities and personnel across multiple sites. You will supervise officers, coordinate scheduling, and respond to incidents to maintain safety and operations.

Responsibilities include training staff, reviewing reports, handling after-hours coverage, and ensuring compliance with safety practices and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5+ years security experience, with 2+ in lead role.
• Valid Texas Class C and/or CDL.
• Experience supervising security staff and coordinating operations.
• Ability to train staff and perform duties when needed.

Responsibilities

• Confirm presence and activities of scheduled security officers at assigned sites.
• Identify and notify replacement personnel for vacant assignments.
• Perform duties of security officers when necessary.
• Provide direction and training to site officers and contractors.
• Review site documentation and guard tour reports.
• Monitor welfare of security personnel on after-hour/remote assignments.
• Provide officer backup during irregularities and investigations.
• Assist with supplies and repairs to fences, gates and locks.
• Respond to alarm notifications.
• Patrol various sites as needed.
• Coordinate access with law enforcement as required.
• Produce periodic reports on site activities and issues.
