Job summary

The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) seeks an Assistant Director of Security in its Investigation Bureau. The role involves supervising security staff, ensuring safety and order, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies.

The position reports to the Director of Security and requires leadership in security operations in a fast-paced office environment. Applicants must have extensive security experience with supervisory background, NYS Basic Course certificate, and firearms

Qualifications

Seven (7) or more years of security experience with at least three (3) in a supervisory position.
Possess a valid certificate of completion from New York State Basic Course for Police officer’s academy.
Firearms qualification required.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise the security unit in accordance with standing orders.
In the absence of the Director, supervise, approve weekly timesheets, and evaluate staff performance.
Escort Assistant District Attorneys and witnesses to and from court.
Coordinate with Human Resources to post security job openings and interview applicants.
Assist in preparing the unit's daily work schedule.
Coordinate operations with the police department and other law enforcement agencies.
Work on special projects and tasks as assigned.
Be willing to work flexible hours.
