Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science or related field is required.
• Four years of professional correctional work experience, with two years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
• Experience substituting education with work experience on a year-for-year basis may apply to a maximum of four years.
• Knowledge of correctional custody methods and related rules, supervision and training principles.
• Valid driver's license is required and minimum age is 18.

Responsibilities

• Supervise enforcement of facility policies, procedures, rules and standards.
• Direct or supervise staff providing security and related functions; interview and recommend applicants; review personnel actions.
• Communicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, agencies, visitors and the public; provide testimony when required.
• Prepare shift logs, disciplinary and incident reports and other administrative records with proper grammar and labeling.
