Job summary

PLACE is seeking a Security Engineer to lead security operations for the Brivity Platform and protect data across North America. You will partner with engineering, product, and QA to implement modern protection and data recovery practices, while staying ahead of evolving threats.

You will triage alerts, perform vulnerability analysis, and drive remediation efforts, with a security-first mindset and scalable tooling. This role offers flexible work locations and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in security operations engineering or a similar cybersecurity role.
• Ability to triage, investigate, and document security vulnerabilities and threats.
• Proficiency with security scanning tools and monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge of modern threat environments and mitigation practices.
• Experience with protection methods, data recovery, and incident analysis.
• Comfort with on‑call rotations and handling time‑sensitive alerts.
• Strong knowledge of networks, systems, and cloud security.
• Excellent remediation reporting and communication skills.
• Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone hours.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate security scanning tools to identify and analyze vulnerabilities.
• Remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and implement preventive processes.
• Triage, investigate, and elevate security alerts with remediation guidance.
• Document procedures, standards, and best practices for security.
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize alert rules and coverage.
• Provide technical leadership on network and system security.
• Identify gaps and ensure dependencies are fully audited.
• Support debugging, testing, and remediation management for infosec posture.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotations for alert triage.
• Develop deep knowledge of organizational systems and security tools.
• Ensure products meet established security standards.
• Monitor networks for intrusions and implement protection and recovery methods.
• Advise on security risks with new development or changes.
• Assist in providing access with security standards and practices.
