Job summary

Brook Lane is seeking an experienced and decisive Manager of Security Operations & Emergency Preparedness to lead daily security operations and coordinate emergency planning and response.

This role ensures a safe environment for staff, residents, patients, students, and visitors, supervising security personnel, overseeing systems, and developing procedures to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum three years of management experience in a security-related field.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Ability to obtain de-escalation training within 90 days and maintain it.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record for Meritus vehicle.
• Ability to provide certified driving record bi-annually and sign vehicle-use attestation.
• Knowledge of healthcare security regulations and practices.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, conflict-resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency with incident-reporting systems, access-control systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily security operations and supervise security officers.
• Oversee access control, surveillance, visitor management, and key-control systems.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures; oversee emergency preparedness activities.
• Coordinate incident investigations and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Provide staff training on security policies and de-escalation techniques.
• Liaise with local police, fire, EMS, and emergency-management agencies.
• Oversee safety and storage of patient valuables and lost-and-found items.
• Coordinate with departments on safety and workplace-violence prevention.
