The role involves assessing alarm activity, dispatching responders, documenting incidents, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. The position includes 4 pm–12 am Thu/Fri and 12 pm–12 am Sat/Sun with potential weekend/holiday overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred in Technical or Criminal Justice.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Security Operations Center or 911 Dispatch Center; law enforcement/military background a plus.
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft products and Internet proficiency.
• Experience with physical security, including video surveillance.

Responsibilities

About this position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Tech Systems is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Specialist to monitor video surveillance, access control, alarm, and security systems that protect people, facilities, and assets. This role is responsible for assessing alarm activity, dispatching appropriate responders, documenting incidents, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

SCHEDULE

Thursday & Friday (4 pm - 12 am), Saturday & Sunday (12 pm - 12 am)

As part of a 24/7 Security Operations Center, occasional weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift coverage may be required based on business needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

• Must be willing to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Monitors security access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV and other control programs and systems that protect company employees, contractors, visitors, and assets.
• Capable of making reasonable assessments of possible threats when viewing security cameras.
• Maintains accurate records of all work performed, materials used, and communicates any problem encountered or identified with security system.
• Answers incoming lines, remaining calm, and speaking clearly to customers.
• Provides timely, efficient, and professional service to all clients to ensure client satisfaction.
• Attends to other matters and duties assigned by the Monitoring Center Manager or other executive staff of Tech Systems.

Employees in this role perform duties where impaired performance could result in a significant risk of harm to themselves, coworkers, clients, or the public. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates degree in Technical or Criminal Justice, preferred.

B. EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 1 year experience in a Security Operations Center or 911 Dispatch Center.
• Some law enforcement and/or military background, a plus.

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & COMPETENCY

• Excellent computer skills, including, but not limited to, in-depth knowledge of Microsoft based products (such as MS Word, Excel, MS Office Suite, and Outlook) and the Internet.
• Experience with physical security, to include video surveillance.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced mission critical environment.
• Excellent customer service skills, including a sense of urgency when attending to internal needs.
• Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Strong time management skills, including ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with Tech Systems' staff, vendors, and customers.

D. DRIVER'S LICENSE

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have a clean driving record, satisfactory to Tech Systems' automobile insurance carrier.

F. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Job duties are performed in an office setting. This position will report to the Buford office with some telecommuting. Shift work is required for 24/7 coverage, it is expected that this position will require some work outside of the normal schedule.
