Job description

Security Operations Supervisor (Night Shift)
About the Opportunity

A rapidly expanding high-performance computing and data infrastructure provider is seeking a Security Operations Supervisor to lead night-shift operations within a mission-critical Security Operations Center (SOC).

This organization operates large-scale compute environments supporting AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and next-generation digital infrastructure. Their facilities run around the clock and require disciplined operational oversight to ensure the safety, integrity, and continuous availability of critical infrastructure.

The Security Operations Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining situational awareness across operations, coordinating incident response, and ensuring the SOC team executes procedures with precision and professionalism. This role combines hands-on operational oversight with leadership responsibilities, serving as the primary escalation point during the assigned shift.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments where real-time decision making, operational discipline, and team leadership are essential, this role offers the opportunity to work at the center of a growing critical infrastructure operation.

Role Overview

The Security Operations Supervisor leads a dedicated SOC shift responsible for 24/7 monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and operational support across a large-scale infrastructure environment.

This individual serves as Tier-2 escalation for SOC analysts, ensuring incidents are triaged correctly, procedures are followed, and communications remain clear during routine operations and emergency situations.

The supervisor also ensures operational continuity across surveillance, access control, life-safety systems, and internal coordination with technical and facilities teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate night-shift Security Operations Center activities, ensuring consistent situational awareness and operational coverage.
  • Serve as primary escalation point for SOC analysts, supporting incident investigation, response coordination, and escalation decisions.
  • Monitor surveillance platforms, access control systems, operational dashboards, and security logs to identify suspicious activity or operational anomalies.
  • Ensure incidents are properly documented, triaged, and escalated according to established procedures.
  • Conduct proactive threat detection and vulnerability identification across physical and operational security systems.
  • Oversee SOC ticket queues and ensure incidents and requests are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support business continuity and incident recovery efforts during operational disruptions.
  • Coordinate access control management including credential provisioning, permissions updates, and system audits.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams, facilities personnel, and leadership during incidents or operational events.
  • Ensure shift personnel adhere to SOC procedures, escalation protocols, and response standards.
  • Mentor and support SOC analysts to maintain high operational performance and accountability.
Qualifications

Required

  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working with multiple monitoring systems or operational dashboards simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard operational reporting tools.
  • Ability to prioritize competing operational demands and make timely decisions.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and procedures.

Preferred

  • Background in first responder, emergency operations center (EOC), or critical infrastructure security.
  • Experience with video surveillance platforms, access control systems, and IP-based camera technologies.
  • Familiarity with data center or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
