Security Operation Center (SOC) Analyst II "W-TRS"

Location: JRMC Hohenfels, Germany (ONSITE)

The SOC Analyst is responsible for cybersecurity operations, incident response, and cyber defense measures supporting the Warfighter Training Readiness Solutions (W-TRS) program under the U.S. Army PEO STRI. Responsibilities include continuous 24/7 monitoring, analysis, response to cyber threats, compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, and reporting related to FISMA, RMF, and security incidents. The role involves operating, maintaining, and deploying enterprise cyber tools.

Required Skills
  • Hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations (protection, detection, response, sustainment)
  • Technical expertise in current cybersecurity technologies and emerging innovations
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity threat lifecycle and TTPs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to create technical reports
Responsibilities
  • Support documentation and artifacts for cybersecurity requirements per DoDI 8510 and AR 25-2, based on RMF system categorization
  • Operate workstations, analyze data, and assimilate into usable information
  • Execute incident responses, prepare reports, and coordinate with IA personnel
  • Validate IA Vulnerability Alerts via vulnerability scanning
  • Maintain and secure baseline configurations
  • Ensure security configurations are documented and maintained
  • Perform continuous monitoring and compliance testing
  • Analyze and correlate audit records using SIEM tools
  • Perform security testing, prepare RMF documents, and present security architecture
  • Monitor external boundary communications and unauthorized software
  • Configure security features and review audit logs
  • Manage accounts, ensure weekly backups, and support FISMA assessments
Desired Skills
  • 3+ years incident handling experience
  • Experience with DoD/U.S. Army/Federal Government cybersecurity tools and environments
  • Proficiency with ACAS, Splunk, ESS, Cisco ASA, STIGs, SCC/SCAP, Windows, Linux (RHEL)
  • Experience as a SOC Analyst or related cybersecurity role under CSSP
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance with 6 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.

Clearance Requirement

Current U.S. DoD Secret Clearance
