Allied Universal, North America’s leading security services company, is hiring a Security Officer Visitor Welcome Desk in Columbia, SC. You will greet visitors, manage access control, monitor systems, and respond to alarms in a professional, secure environment.

This is a part-time Front Desk security role with weekend evening shifts. Responsibilities include welcoming visitors, screening credentials, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and vendors by following site procedures and access-control protocols.
• Greet and screen visitors, verify appointments and credentials, issue passes, and direct to offices or building areas.
• Monitor lobby activity, access points, alarms, cameras, and communication systems; report unusual activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and tenant concerns in a calm, professional manner; notify appropriate personnel and responders as needed.
• Maintain accurate visitor, incident, and access-control records and present a professional front-desk presence.

Pay Rate: $14.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day Time

Sat03:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Sun03:00 PM – 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.

• Greet and screen visitors, verify appointments and credentials, issue visitor passes, and direct individuals to the appropriate offices or building areas.

• Monitor lobby activity, access points, alarms, cameras, and communication systems, and report unusual or unauthorized activity according to site procedures.

• Respond to incidents, tenant concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.

• Maintain accurate visitor, incident, and access-control records while providing a professional front-desk presence that helps to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
