Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer – School Visitor Screening in Pittsburgh, PA to safeguard campus environments. You will screen visitors, monitor entry points, and support access procedures while providing customer service to students, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities include coordinating with campus resources during incidents, maintaining logs, and directing individuals to appropriate destinations.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Be comfortable using computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Driver’s license for driving positions only.

You will perform routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents, while providing clear communication and customer service to students, staff, and guests. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors and/or vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct screening at designated entry points using walkthrough metal detectors, handheld wands and/or bag inspection procedures in accordance with post orders and local requirements.
• Verify identification, support visitor check-in processes, issue temporary credentials when authorized and direct individuals to appropriate campus destinations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from campus resources and/or emergency services as needed.
• Complete required logs and reports, communicate noteworthy activity to site leadership and help to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized access through consistent screening practices.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Be comfortable using computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
