Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Job Description

As a Security Officer - Union Headquarters in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge processes. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while working with a reliable, caring team that values agility, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the commercial office property, including entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points, observe activity, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
