Job summary

Allied Universal in California, MD is seeking an unarmed Security Officer (Part Time) to protect people and property at a technology-focused location. You will conduct routine patrols, deter security incidents, document observations, and provide professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas to identify hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, maintaining visitor and incident records.
• Respond to incidents and alarms with calm, professional problem-solving and escalation as needed.
• Complete shift reports and daily activity logs with clear communication to site personnel.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $26.92 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sun: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including business spaces, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
• Maintain a professional presence, communicate clearly with site personnel and emergency responders, and complete required shift reports and daily activity logs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
