Job summary

Allied Universal in San Jose, CA seeks a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Emergency Preparedness to safeguard clients across industries, including Government, at a public transportation location.

You'll monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, assist riders, employees, and visitors with professionalism, and report observations through Allied Universal’s teamwork‑driven culture and strong integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at public transportation facilities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and report observations.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, contractor, and employee access in accordance with site‑specific procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate relevant information to supervisors and authorized personnel.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Emergency Preparedness in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a public transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist riders, employees, and visitors with professionalism and clear communication. You will report observations and respond to routine security-related concerns while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people‑first culture through teamwork and integrity.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• At this site there are limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
