Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Springfield, MA. This flexible, dependable role supports a fixed weekly shift and offers opportunities to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

The position pays $20.50 per hour, with a Saturday 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM schedule. Responsibilities include customer service, patrolling, access control, and incident response, with a path toward fuller-time work up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience are required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be completed per federal, state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories where allowed by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑traffic areas to help support an orderly shopping environment and assist with access control procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and security‑related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.

Pay Rate: $20.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sat 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security‑related experience are required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
