Job summary

Allied Universal in Hampton, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Boundary Security). You will monitor designated areas, deter incidents, assist employees and visitors, and maintain a visible, professional security presence across a distribution facility.

The role requires 18+ age, a high school diploma, background check and drug screen. Driving license may be required for driving positions; schedule Fri–Sun 2:30 PM–10:30 PM with a pay rate of $17.19/hour.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws; valid driver's license if driving positions.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and delivery personnel while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking lots, and entry points.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and maintain logs.
• Respond calmly to incidents and alarms, escalating as needed.
• Prepare clear activity, incident, and patrol reports for leadership.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. Pay Rate: $17.19 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sat: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sun: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the distribution facility, loading areas, parking lots, trailer yards, entry points, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, maintain visitor and driver logs, and report access concerns or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
