Job summary

Allied Universal in Hampton, VA is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Patrol. You will serve and safeguard clients across logistics and distribution locations, maintain a visible presence, provide exceptional customer service, and respond to security concerns with integrity.

This role offers flexible scheduling and a pay rate of $17.19 per hour. DayTime shifts include early morning hours on Thursdays and Sundays, with opportunities to grow within a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and personnel at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of loading areas, trailer lots, parking areas, entry points, and facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Observe and report unusual activity, damaged property, unsecured doors or gates, and other security-related conditions to the appropriate contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, documenting observations and actions according to site requirements.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
