Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Badge Control) in Sunnyvale, CA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help deter incidents, support access control, and assist with loss prevention while delivering excellent customer service.

Pay rate is $24.00 per hour. Schedule includes DayTime Sat 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM and Sun 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM. A background check and drug screen are part of the process.

Qualifications

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols throughout the retail location to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity or policy violations to store personnel and leadership.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and observations accurately per site procedures.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and assist with loss prevention activities. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate store personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and observations accurately in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
