Job summary

Allied Universal in Kinston, NC is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer for a food and beverage location. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access, and provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors.

The role requires alertness and clear communication, following site procedures. Full-time schedule Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a pay rate of $13.84 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted as per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state/local regulations.
• Age requirement: 18+ for unarmed roles (21+ for armed).

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, professional manner and follow reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of facilities, production areas, parking areas, entrances and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and maintain visitor and vehicle logs; assist with access control as needed.
• Document observations and patrol activity; communicate with site contacts and responders.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, production areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and potential hazards.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and assist with access-control procedures for a food and beverage manufacturing location.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity accurately; communicate relevant information to site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
