Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Locust Grove, VA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access, and deliver welcoming, professional service to residents, guests and staff while maintaining a secure environment.

The role offers a flexible weekend schedule (Sat/Sun 10:00 AM–6:00 PM) with a pay rate of $18.04 per hour, and opportunities for growth through our training and perks program.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to community amenities, residential areas, and resort facilities by verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining access-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entry points, amenity areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity.
• Operate access control systems, gates, and communication equipment in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
