Pay rate is $21.00 per hour. The position supports a part-time schedule with a base anchor shift and optional extra shifts to maximize earnings, while maintaining balance with personal needs.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs, preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law; subject to federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology-focused site.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and delivery traffic per site access-control rules.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally, escalating as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate with site contacts and leadership.

As a Security Officer Unarmed Part Time Access Controller in Austin, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and report concerns according to site procedures.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and delivery traffic in accordance with site-specific access-control requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating information to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, observations, and daily activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be able to lift up to 20 lbs, preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have CPR and First Aid certification, preferred.
• Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
