Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed to support a technology and media campus in Austin, Texas. The role emphasizes customer service, security procedures, and incident reporting.

The position offers a fixed anchor shift with the option to pick up extra shifts through the scheduling platform, increasing earnings, and the potential to scale up to a full schedule. Candidates should meet experience requirements and pass background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience.
• Or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Must be 18+ (unarmed) or 21+ (armed).

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and guests at a technology and media campus by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, common areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, contractor, and employee credentials in accordance with site procedures; provide directions and support for authorized persons entering the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence in a fast‑paced technology and media environment.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Responder in Austin, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.28 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security‑related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
