Allied Universal in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed for full-time, multi-shift coverage. You will monitor facilities, provide customer service, and respond to security concerns while maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents.

The role requires strong service orientation, compliance with site policies, and the ability to work afternoon and overnight shifts on Thursday through Sunday. A valid guard card/licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in Charlottesville, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Pay Rate: $18.27 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utility-related location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and support site operations.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services when required.
• Report observed hazards, damaged equipment, suspicious activity, and other security-related concerns according to established procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
