Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol in Salem, VA to monitor areas, conduct routine patrols, and support access control while delivering excellent customer service.

This full-time, unarmed position offers a pay rate of $18.67 per hour and a schedule that includes day and night shifts. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED and emphasizes integrity, reliability, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, office areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and communicating access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting emergency services when required.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, access-related events, and other security-related observations.
