Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Roving Patrol Driver in Roanoke, VA. You will support utilities locations with unarmed security, performing routine vehicle patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and reporting observations to supervision.

You will deliver excellent customer service, follow site procedures, and work as part of a collaborative team to deter incidents and protect people and property while upholding Allied Universal's culture and standards.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at utility-related locations by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and support site operations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, documenting entries, incidents, and observations as required.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate site representatives and/or emergency services when needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site personnel.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Roving Patrol Driver in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a utilities location, you will conduct routine vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and report observations. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting operations through teamwork, integrity, and Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
