Job summary

Allied Universal in Darlington, SC is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer (Part Time) to protect clients across technology, media, and telecom sites. You will deter incidents, monitor access points, and deliver courteous service while following site procedures.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, at least two years of security experience, and a high school diploma. Shifts are Thu 4:00 PM–12:00 AM and Fri 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, with training and career growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may apply; driving positions require a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors while following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and access concerns with calm, professional communication.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and entrances.
• Monitor access points and assist with directing guests and reporting issues.
• Complete accurate logs, patrol reports, and incident documentation.

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Fri: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations and incident details to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; assist with directing guests and reporting access-control issues.
• Complete accurate activity logs, patrol reports, and incident documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
