Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Long Island City, NY. You will protect residents, visitors and staff, monitor access points, and conduct patrols to deter incidents while delivering excellent customer service.

The role offers a flexible schedule with daytime/night shifts and opportunities to grow within a leading security services company. Prior security experience and licensing are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least one year of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience preferred.
• 18+ years for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors and staff following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot/vehicle patrols of buildings, common areas and entrances.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization, report suspicious conditions.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies, notify appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols and incidents accurately per procedures.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a residential location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of residential buildings, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report suspicious or unusual conditions according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
