Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a transitional shelter location in South Ozone Park, NY. You will provide customer service to residents and staff, monitor security, and perform patrols to deter incidents.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories per applicable laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws; may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at a shelter location.


• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and emergency response procedures.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, perimeters, and designated access points, to help deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of visitor and resident activity.


• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and appropriate site personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
