Job summary

Allied Universal in Mount Vernon, WA is seeking a Security Officer Experienced Unarmed Patrol to join our team at a public transportation location. This part-time position offers a stable schedule, on-site duties, and the opportunity to work with a trusted security provider focused on rider safety and service.

As an unarmed patrol officer, you will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and document activities using required reports.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen will be conducted as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors while following site procedures and emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of transit facilities, parking areas, bus stops, platforms, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and passenger concerns in a calm, professional manner, contacting appropriate personnel when needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations in required reports and communicate with Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of transit facilities, parking areas, bus stops, platforms, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately in required reports and communicate relevant information to site representatives and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
