Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Reconnaissance in Queens, NY. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings and gain experience across sites.

Pay rate is $35.70 per hour with a schedule including Sundays. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a Law Enforcement Officer License, and an Armed Guard Card or License preferred; background checks and a drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, undergo a background check and drug screen as required by law.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out armed security procedures at public transportation locations.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally following procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe conditions, reporting suspicious activity and policy violations to authorities.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with transit personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Reconnaissance in Queens, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Job Schedule:

Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public transportation locations.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, surrounding perimeters, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe conditions throughout assigned locations, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with transit personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
