Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in New York, NY to provide reliable, flexible hours at a government services site. The role offers the chance to earn additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $18.87 per hour. The position involves fixed shifts, occasional pick-up shifts, and progression toward a fuller schedule while maintaining customer service and safety at the site.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A drug screen will be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, entrances, public waiting areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, credential verification, and direction of guests in accordance with established site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation while maintaining a professional presence and respectful interactions with diverse populations.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue08:00 AM - 12:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
