Job summary

Allied Universal in Bethesda, MD is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer for Mobile Patrol duties at a busy mall/retail location. You will patrol by vehicle and on foot, maintain a visible security presence, and deliver friendly service to guests, tenants, and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted per laws.
• Criminal histories will be considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of mall common areas, retail corridors, parking areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Assist with access control, visitor inquiries, wayfinding, and policy compliance while maintaining a professional presence.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
