Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer in Arlington, VA to safeguard clients at a commercial real estate site. You will patrol assigned areas unarmed, deter unauthorized activity, monitor access, and provide excellent customer service to tenants and staff.

Position is full-time with a night schedule and a pay rate of $27.39 per hour. Active DoD Secret Clearance is required; a Guard Card or license is preferred and a background check plus drug screen will be conducted.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and building personnel by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate contacts and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial office areas, entrances, parking facilities, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience are required.
• An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
