Job summary

Allied Universal in Punta Gorda, FL is seeking a Security Officer Secure Entry Operations to manage government access points, verify identification, monitor visitor activity, and maintain a professional, secure environment while delivering excellent service.

You will perform patrols, respond to incidents calmly, and support emergency responses. This full-time role offers daytime shifts and a pay rate of $19 per hour, with opportunities to grow and access to company tools and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify identification, manage visitor records, and direct individuals per procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations, communicating observations to designated personnel and emergency responders.
• Control entry/exit of vehicles and pedestrians, screen deliveries and contractors, deter unauthorized access.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points and perimeter areas; site conditions vary by location.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points at a government location, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor entry records, and direct individuals to appropriate areas in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to designated personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Control entry and exit of vehicles and pedestrians, screen deliveries and contractors as required, and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, exterior areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
