Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Screening Technology in Indianapolis, IN. You will serve and safeguard clients by using screening equipment to identify prohibited items and maintain a secure environment.

As a Screener in a fast-paced logistics setting, you will interact professionally with employees and visitors, perform site-specific screening, monitor access, and respond to incidents while adhering to safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Screen packages, freight, vehicles, and/or individuals per site procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry to controlled areas.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate concerns through reporting channels.
• Conduct regular patrols of loading zones, parking areas, and perimeter.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, screening protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen packages, freight, vehicles, and/or individuals in accordance with site procedures and applicable requirements.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry to controlled areas within a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of operational areas, loading zones, parking areas, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
