Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Screening Technology in Indianapolis, IN. You will protect clients across logistics and distribution sites, using screening equipment to identify prohibited items and maintain a secure environment.

The role involves manning access points, assisting employees and visitors, and responding to incidents with professional communication and situational awareness. This is a full‑time, hourly position with shift rotations.

Qualifications

• Unarmed: age 18+; armed: age 21+.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs preferred.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screening required where allowed by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site‑specific security procedures, screening protocols, and emergency activities as appropriate.
• Screen packages, freight, vehicles, and/or individuals per site procedures and requirements.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry to controlled areas in a logistics/distribution environment.
• Respond calmly to incidents and escalate concerns through reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of operational areas, loading zones, parking areas, and facility perimeter.

As a Security Officer Screening Technology in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a fast‑paced logistics and distribution location, you will use screening equipment to help identify prohibited items and support a secure environment. You will interact professionally with employees and visitors, maintain awareness of site activity, and communicate observations clearly. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, screening protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.


• Screen packages, freight, vehicles, and/or individuals in accordance with site procedures and applicable requirements.


• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry to controlled areas within a logistics and distribution location.


• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.


• Conduct regular and random patrols of operational areas, loading zones, parking areas, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.


• X‑Ray screening experience is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
